At Get Blogged, we know the best blogs are born out of real life. Messy, joyful, and always evolving. Jayne Armishaw-Bagnall, the creator behind Sticky Mud & Belly Laughs, has built a family lifestyle blog that feels as welcoming as a cuppa in a friend’s kitchen. Her content is a celebration of the everyday, covering everything from home inspiration and parenting wins (and the inevitable fails), to crafts, wellbeing, and family adventures.
Jayne’s story is a reminder that blogging is most powerful when it’s rooted in authenticity and a genuine desire to help others feel seen. What started as a creative outlet during the chaos of raising two young boys has grown into a thriving, full-time business. Proof that sharing your real life can open unexpected doors.

A Chat with Jayne of Sticky Mud & Belly Laughs Blog
Get Blogged: Jayne, your blog is a wonderful mix of family life, creativity and honest storytelling. How did you get started, and what keeps you inspired?
Jayne: Sticky Mud & Belly Laughs is very much a family lifestyle blog at heart, but I love chatting about all sorts from home inspiration, parenting wins (and fails!), crafts, days out, wellbeing, you name it. Life isn’t one-dimensional, and neither is my blog, so it’s become a lovely little mix of everything that makes family life… well, family life!
I first got into blogging when my two boys were little. I loved reading about other parents’ lives (the real stuff), and I wanted to create that same cosy, helpful space for others. What started as a creative outlet during the chaos of raising boys has grown into one of my full-time businesses.
Get Blogged: That sense of warmth and relatability really shines through in your content. Are there any collaborations that have stood out as highlights for you?
Jayne: My Simba collaboration was definitely a highlight. I reviewed their Ludlow Ottoman Bed, and it honestly transformed our bedroom. It has loads of storage and a gorgeous design. Simba Ludlow Ottoman Bed Review
Working with Very is always a pleasure. Their products fit so naturally into our everyday routine, whether it’s home bits, fashion or tech gift ideas. It’s one of those partnerships where sharing the content feels completely effortless and genuine, and they always get the best traffic! Christmas Gifts for Every Personality
I also loved putting together a unique post about commissioned jewellery with Sue Lane. It was something a bit different. My readers enjoyed seeing a handcrafted option for special keepsakes, and it was lovely to promote a small business. Commissioned Jewellery Feature
Get Blogged: Those sound like fantastic partnerships. Sometimes, the most valuable collaborations aren’t just about the content; they’re about building something lasting. Have you had a campaign that turned into something more?
Jayne: A brand approached me for what was meant to be a simple one-off campaign. I did the post as usual, hit publish… and it turned into an ongoing partnership because the brand loved the results so much. That experience really highlighted how valuable good communication and authenticity are. When a collab is a natural fit, it can be the start of something much bigger.
Get Blogged: That’s such a great point. Real relationships often start with honest, creative work. Has there been a moment when you felt especially valued by a brand or PR?
Jayne: One small thing that really made me feel valued was when a PR agency I’d worked with for years wrote an amazing reference on my work for my Creative Writing Master’s Degree Uni application. It honestly meant the world. I’ve always loved building genuine friendships with the brands and PRs I collaborate with. The kind where you’re not just sending emails back and forth, but you’re cheering each other on. Having someone take the time to support me personally, not just professionally, was just really nice… and I’m happy to say I passed the course! It’s those thoughtful gestures that remind you how lovely this industry can be.
Get Blogged: That’s such a powerful reminder. The industry is at its best when it’s built on kindness and mutual support. When you’re considering a new partnership, what’s most important to you?
Jayne: I always ask myself a few things. Would I genuinely use, wear, or recommend this? Does it solve a real problem? Can I talk about it naturally, without it feeling like an AD? If it ticks those boxes, I know that it will be a great fit for my audience.
Get Blogged: That’s brilliant advice. For bloggers who want to work with more brands, what would you suggest?
Jayne: Don’t be afraid to pitch! The worst they can say is “not right now, thank you”, and that’s absolutely fine. More often than not, brands really appreciate a new face popping into their inbox with a friendly idea. You never know, your email could land right as they’re planning a new campaign.
Get Blogged: We couldn’t agree more. The blogging world changes quickly, but some things remain constant. What do you see as the future for creators and brands?
Jayne: Trends come and go, but creativity lasts. Brands will gravitate towards creators who think outside the box and bring something fresh. Viral trends get attention, but they are short-lived. Blogging is here to stay, and I would love to see more of a community next year.
