April is one of those months where everyone wants something slightly different: lighter routines, spring style, better skin days, more time outdoors, mini-break planning. And (let’s be honest) a bit of a money reset after the Easter weekend spend.

If you’re a blogger or creator, that’s great news. Timely content is easier to write, easier to share, and easier to pitch to brands because it taps into what your audience is already thinking about.

Below you’ll find 10 quick content hooks for every week in April across popular niches like sports, skincare, travel, parenting, fashion, beauty/makeup, lifestyle, wellness, business and tech.

The easiest way to make any hook yours is to add one personal detail (what you tried, what you’re buying, what you’re changing) and one practical takeaway (a mini checklist, product list, or 3-step plan).

April always feels like a reset, does it not? Lighter mornings, fresh routines, and that little burst of motivation to try something new with your content.

But it is not just spring vibes. April is packed with awareness days and cultural moments that give you a ready-made reason to show up. That is handy whether you are a creator planning your next post, a brand building a launch calendar, or an agency pulling together ideas for clients.

So if you have been thinking, what on earth do we post in April, this is for you.

Below is a practical, campaign-first guide to April awareness days, plus content angles that work for blogs, social, email and PR.

How to use awareness days without it feeling forced

Awareness day content works best when it is relevant, useful, and easy to act on. If it feels like a stretch, it probably is.

Keep it relevant. Choose days that genuinely fit your niche, product, or audience.

Lead with action. Share tips, a resource, a donation, or a simple challenge.

Make it creator-friendly. Clear brief, creative freedom, realistic deliverables.

Do not force it. It is fine to skip a day if it does not fit.

If you are a brand or agency, the quickest win is to pick two to four moments in April and build mini campaigns around them. You do not need to post for everything. Honestly, nobody has time for that.

Creators, the same applies. You will get more traction from one strong series than ten random one-off posts.

Why creators are great partners for April campaigns

Creators make awareness day marketing feel human. That is the magic.

For brands and agencies, creator partnerships help you.

Move faster. Creators already know what formats perform.

Build trust. Audiences respond to lived experience and honest storytelling.

Get multi-format assets. Blog, short video, Stories, pins, email snippets.

Stretch a single day into a week. Same theme, different angles.

For creators, awareness hooks make it easier to pitch brands with a timely angle. They also help you create content that is useful and more likely to be shared. And let us be real, it is much easier to hit publish when you have a clear hook.

April awareness days and content ideas

Dates can vary slightly depending on the organiser and country. It is worth double-checking before you schedule anything. Have you ever planned a whole post and then realised the date is different in the UK? It happens!

Stress Awareness Month. April

If your audience is busy, overwhelmed, or juggling a million things, this one is a gift.

Creator angles

Best formats

Blog checklist, carousel, email mini series, one-minute reset video.

Pick one theme and run a five to seven-day series. Move more, waste less, or a stress reset week all work well.

Brands and agencies can sponsor the challenge, provide prizes, and build a simple landing page.

Creators can share daily prompts plus one anchor blog post.

If you are an agency, this is also a lovely way to package a campaign. One theme, multiple creators, lots of assets.

2. A resource drop instead of a promo

Awareness days are a great time to lead with value.

Templates, checklists, recipes, reading lists, mini guides.

Add a soft call to action. If you want help implementing this, here is what we offer.

Creators, this is also a great way to grow your email list. A simple free download can do a lot.

3. A multi-creator bundle that is easy to manage

Work with five to fifteen creators in one niche and build a coordinated content moment.

One shared theme.

Different formats per creator.

A single tracking link or code per creator.

Quick tip. Give everyone the same core message, then let them choose their own angle. That is how you get variety without losing consistency.

4. A giveaway that actually matches the moment

If you run a giveaway, make it feel on-theme.

Earth Day. A refillable starter kit.

World Book Night. A reading bundle.

Move More Month. A beginner fitness pack.

If you want it to perform even better, ask people to comment with something specific. A favourite book. A go-to leftover recipe. A small swap they have made.

Quick brief template you can copy and paste

Hook. The awareness day and why it matters.

Audience. Who are we speaking to?

Key message. One sentence.

Deliverables. For example, one blog post, one short video, and three Stories.

Must-haves. Talking points, link, disclosure.

Creative freedom. State what is flexible.

Deadline and approvals. Timeline and process.

Ready to plan your April collaborations?

If you are a creator, April is a great month to pitch timely content packages. You can even pitch a mini-series. Brands love a neat package.

If you are a brand or agency, the easiest win is to choose two to four April moments and build mini campaigns with creators who already speak to your audience.

We’ve just launched a new feature that helps you turn your best services into clear, bookable packages! You can now add paid (and gifted) services to your Get Blogged profile.

Think: a sponsored blog post for a set price, a UGC photo pack, a product review bundle, or a blog + socials package, all with pricing and inclusions upfront.

Brands can purchase your services directly, and they can add them to their basket alongside other campaign hires and collaborations.

What’s new

You can now:

Create services that sit on your profile

Set your own prices

Explain what’s included (deliverables, timelines, add-ons)

Brands can:

See your services while viewing your profile

Purchase instantly (less back-and-forth)

Checkout with other collaborations in one go

Why we think this is great for creators

1) You get more of the right enquiries

When your offer is clear, brands self-select. You’re more likely to attract briefs that match what you actually want to deliver.

2) You spend less time negotiating

Your services do the explaining for you.

3) You can sell beyond a post

Not every brand on Get Blogged needs a blog post. Some need content assets: UGC, product photography, and short-form video. Services let you monetise what you’re already good at.

4) You can increase your average order value

Services make it easier for brands to buy more than one deliverable from you without negotiating each item.

What’s in it for creators?

If you’re thinking, “This sounds great, but it’s going to take time to set up”, you’re not wrong. Writing strong service listings takes a bit of effort.

But here’s the payoff:

You create once, sell repeatedly. A well-written service becomes a reusable sales page that works while you’re offline.

You reduce friction. Brands are more likely to book when they can see price + inclusions instantly.

You control the scope. By defining what’s included, you protect your time and avoid the “just one more thing” request.

You’re early. Right now, only a handful of creators have added services, which means less competition and more visibility for those who do.

We’re going to showcase services more. As the services database grows, we’ll start highlighting services across the platform, so setting yours up now puts you in the best position to benefit when promotion ramps up.

Start with 1 or 2 services.

You don’t need a full menu on day one. Pick the deliverable you can fulfil confidently and consistently (and that you’re happy to repeat).

Example service listing

Here’s an example of what a Sponsored Post service could look like on your profile. Use it as a starting point and tweak it to match your niche, style, and workflow.

1 x brand mention in the introduction

1 x featured image and 3 supporting images

1 round of edits (minor amendments)

What I need from you (brand checklist)

Brief + key talking points

Target URL + anchor text preferences

Any must-include claims/compliance notes

Product images or brand assets (if needed)

Turnaround time

10-14 days from receiving the full brief (or sooner if agreed)

Notes (set expectations + protect your time)

The post will be written in my usual tone and style to keep it authentic for my audience.

I don’t publish content that conflicts with my values or niche.

Any major rewrites or extra deliverables can be added as an add-on.

Service ideas creators can list

A few popular examples:

Sponsored blog post

Product review

Link insert in existing post

Guest post

UGC photo pack (e.g., 10-20 images)

UGC video bundle (e.g., 3-5 short videos)

How services can work alongside other collaborations in the Get Blogged Marketplace

Brands can combine your services with other hires, so you might see bookings like:

Hired on a sponsored post campaign in the Marketplace + your UGC photo pack service from your profile

Hired for your product review service + your short-form video service

Hired on that link insert opportunity in the Marketplace + your Instagram story service

Tips to make your services convert

Use a clear name (what the brand gets)

List exactly what’s included (deliverables + quantity)

Add a realistic turnaround time

Clarify any usage rights if relevant

Offer a simple add-on (extra images, extra platform, faster delivery)

When you’re pitching your ideas for a brand campaign in the Marketplace, mention that they can also add any of your other services from your profile.

Creator FAQs

If you’ve got a little voice in your head saying, “Yeah, but…” Totally normal. Here are the most common concerns and questions that creators have, and how to think about them.

Do I need to add lots of services?

No, start with 1 or 2 strong, repeatable offers. You can add more later.

What if brands don’t buy services yet?

You’re early. As more creators add services, we’ll showcase them more across the platform , and having yours live means you’re ready when demand increases.

Can I change my pricing later?

Yes, you’re in control. Update your services as your experience, demand, or costs change.

How do I avoid scope creep?

Be specific about what is included (and what’s not). If you offer add-ons, list them clearly.

What should I write in my service description?

Focus on outcomes and clarity. List what the brand receives, how many deliverables, timeline, and any requirements (product sent, brief, etc.)

What if I price it wrong?

You’re not locking yourself in forever.

Start with a price you feel good about based on time, costs, and experience.

Watch what gets booked (and what doesn’t).

Adjust as you go.

A simple approach would be to set a baseline price for your standard turnaround. Then you could offer add-ons for extras (more words, more images, faster delivery, extra platforms).

I don’t want to be boxed into a package.

Packages don’t remove flexibility; they remove confusion.

Your service is a starting point that makes it easy for brands to say yes.

You can still say no to briefs that don’t fit.

You can still offer add-ons (or suggest a different service) when a brand needs something slightly different.

What if a brand expects more than what I listed?

That’s exactly why services are helpful: they set boundaries.

Be specific about deliverables (quantity, format, word count, platforms).

Include what counts as minor edits vs. a rewrite.

Use add-ons for anything outside the scope.

I’m worried it’ll attract bargain hunters.

Clear pricing tends to do the opposite. It filters.

Brands that can’t afford you won’t waste your time.

Brands that value speed + clarity are more likely to book.

If you want to avoid low-budget requests, position your service around outcomes (quality, process, reliability) rather than just deliverables.

I don’t have time to create services that look good.

You don’t need a perfect menu.

Start with one service you can deliver in your sleep.

Write it like a checklist: what’s included, what you need, turnaround time.

Improve it later.

Remember: done beats perfect, especially while services are still new on the platform.

What if I’m not chosen because someone else is cheaper?

Cheaper isn’t always better, and brands aren’t only buying a deliverable.

They’re buying your niche fit, your style, your audience trust, and your reliability.

Your service description is where you show what makes working with you smooth and worth it.

What if I get booked and the brand isn’t a fit for my niche?

You’re never forced into a collaboration that doesn’t align.

Review the brief and make sure it suits your audience, values, and content style.

If it’s not a fit, you can gracefully decline. It’s better to say no than deliver something that feels off-brand.

Tip: add a short line in your service notes about what you do (and don’t) cover. It helps brands self-select before they book.

What if I get booked and I’m already at capacity?

You’re in control.

Only list what you can realistically fulfil.

Set a turnaround time that protects your schedule.

Update/unpublish your services when you’re busy.

What is Creators Wanted?

Creators Wanted is our WhatsApp community built for creators who want to:

Hear about new campaigns first

Stay inspired and informed with useful resources

Get a regular rhythm of updates (so you always know what’s coming)

Join in with fun community moments (because content creation shouldn’t feel lonely)

Whether you’re brand-new to collaborations or you’ve been doing this for years, this group is designed to keep you connected and confident.

Here’s what happens inside the group (our rolling schedule)

We’ve built a simple weekly/monthly rhythm so you always know what to expect:

Second Monday of every month: Treat Drop (aka a fun little giveaway)

We kick off every month with Treat Drop. It’s a little giveaway just for the community.
It’s our way of saying thanks for being here (and giving you a little extra reason to look forward to Mondays).

Every Wednesday: Wisdom Wednesday

Midweek, we share resources, tips, and helpful links to support you as a creator. Think tools, guidance, and ideas you can actually use.

Every Friday: Campaign Roundup

On Fridays, we post a campaign roundup so you can quickly see what’s available and head into the weekend feeling organised (and maybe with a new collab lined up).

Plus, you’ll hear about new campaigns here first

Any time a new campaign goes live, Creators Wanted gets the heads-up first.

That means you’re not relying on luck or timing; you’re in the loop as soon as opportunities drop. And because campaigns can go live at any time, you might see updates daily (sometimes multiple times a day).

We’ll also sprinkle in little engagement moments along the way. Quick check-ins, prompts, and community bits that keep things fun and human.

Why join now?

We know that seasonal sales are important for retailers, and depending on their product niche, the holidays have the potential to bring brands anywhere between over a quarter to over a third of their annual sales.

One clever way to increase your blogger income during the holidays is by featuring products in carefully curated gift guides. Think of them like the online alternative of the Argos catalogue at Christmas; online gift guides help buyers easily find the perfect gifts for their loved ones.

But as a blogger, how do you take advantage of the holiday bumps in spending? How do you get your gift edits in front of your perfect audience?

Online holiday gifting is starting early this year. Don’t miss the boat.

In 2020, over 45% of people said they would be looking for gift guides to inform their purchases during the Christmas holiday season. I’m sure we’re not going to forget that in Christmas 2020 in the UK, we were all forced to stay inside, unable to hit the high street or give gifts in person.

But the trend of using online shopping over hitting the busy high street has continued in 2025. Thanks to advancements in user experience, delivery and customer service, online gift shopping is still a growing and trusted method for gift giving throughout the year, not just at Christmas.

The ever-present reality of supply chain issues, staff shortages, and the cost of living crisis in the UK is forcing people to start Christmas shopping earlier than ever due to having to spread the cost. So, it’s never been more important to get your holiday gift guides sorted early so you can influence your audience’s purchasing decisions.

In this article, we’ll highlight the benefits of publishing gift guides, plus step through the most important and necessary steps to create your strategy, whilst adding a sprinkling of inspiration and creativity along the way.

So let’s get started. Here’s what we’ll cover in this article:

What is a blogger gift guide?

A blogger gift guide is a specially curated list of products that a blogger recommends buying online. A gift guide is usually centred around a certain type of person, an event or awareness day, a season, or a common interest.

Blogger gift guides are especially popular pieces of content to create around the commercial holiday seasons such as Mother’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

What are some examples of gift guide themes?

Here are 20 examples of gift guide themes to spark some inspiration (or to steal – feel free):

15 thoughtful gifts for primary school teachers under £10

20 eco-friendly gifts for bridesmaids

25 birthday gifts for inquisitive 5-year-olds

30 books for science-loving teens

35 advent calendars for children under 10

40 digital gifts for overseas family and friends

10 sustainable Christmas jumpers for Christmas jumper day

15 personalised notebooks for teachers for the autumn term

20 best subscription boxes for kids who love exploring

25 sporty gifts for football-mad kids

30 vegan serums for over 40s

35 Christmas gifts for dads

40 Thanksgiving keepsakes to thank hosts

10 rucksacks for preschoolers

15 advent calendars for families

20 gifts for gardeners

25 digital gifts for gamers

30 eco-friendly toys for 2-year-olds

35 best bargains from Small Business Saturday

40 Black Friday deals to grab for Christmas

Top tip: GO NICHE!

In our experience, the more niche the gift guide, the better chance you’ve got of being seen by your perfect audience. A broader gift guide like ‘30 Christmas gifts’ would be a better idea for more established blogs that reach a high level of regular and returning traffic.

To illustrate that a little bit further, if you’re looking to promote an edit of children’s books about the planet this year, work those products into gift guides such as:

10 Christmas stocking fillers for space-mad children

24 affordable gift ideas for science-loving children this advent

5 children’s books about planet Earth to give this Christmas

15 books to give 10-year-olds for Christmas

Say you’re a jewellery fanatic and you’re looking to feature your favourite products in a wide range of gift guides to bring income and inspiration all year round. Working on gift guide themes like these 4 examples below might help you on your mission:

10 statement necklaces for spring brides

15 affordable friendship rings to gift your best friend

20 keepsake jewellery gifts for Grandparent’s Day

25 silver earrings ideas for mums this Mother’s Day

When do bloggers publish gift guides?

There are so many opportunities throughout the year to get featured in gift guides. By no means is this an exhaustive list but here are 14 popular ones:

Valentine’s Day

Mother’s Day

Father’s Day

Grandparent’s Day

End of the school year (thank you to teachers and caregivers)

Back to school

Halloween

Thanksgiving

Black Friday

Small Business Saturday

Cyber Monday

Advent

Christmas

New Year’s Eve

Lots of bloggers also build gift guide campaigns around awareness days such as:

World Mental Health Day

International Women’s Day

Earth Day

World Friendship Day

Playday

Organic September

….And even National Cheesecake Day!

Publishing your collection of gift guides with plenty of time to take advantage of the elevated search traffic around that time is a great strategy to reach your target audience at the exact time they have the cash to spend and the intent to purchase.

How long should I feature a product in a gift guide?

Typically, products will feature in a gift guide until the next instance of the event or season. For instance, if you feature products in a gift guide for Thanksgiving, it’s likely they’ll be in it until next Thanksgiving when you update the gift guide by removing out-of-date content.

That’s not to say that you can’t feature products in a gift guide indefinitely. As long as the product is readily available over the years then it’s fine to feature the product for as long as you see fit.

Another strategy to take advantage of longevity is to ask the brand/retailer for a trackable link that earns you a commission for sales you introduce through your gift guide.

What are the benefits of publishing gift guides?

Commission

Revenue

Freebies

Organic traffic

Publishing gift guides can be a seriously good investment of time. Bloggers will typically bring in commission, revenue and freebies for featuring products in their gift guides, so it’s in your best interest to promote your gift guides to your loyal audiences who already trust your recommendations.

How to write a gift guide – what content should I include?

Firstly, take your time with the content of your gift guide. Producing gift guides can be ever so slightly repetitive, so clear time in your diary and get your head down! You’ll reap the rewards later.

Say you’re featuring your 10 favourite advent calendars for families; start by explaining why you’re publishing the gift guide with a punchy intro, then take your readers through the reasons why you included each product.

If you’re new to producing sales content, don’t stress about it, be authentic. My offbeat tip for you – catch a show on QVC and grab some tips on how they sell products to their audience. (I’m obsessed with QVC!)

Include the best, most crisp and attractive images of each product and include a clear call to action.

How do I promote my seasonal gift guides?

Spoiler! Unless your blog is very successful, just pressing publish on your content isn’t going to earn you much income. Here are some ideas for promoting your gift guides:

Use e.v.e.r.y free platform you can find to promote your gift guide

Take advantage of social networks

Share in friends and family WhatsApp groups

Add banners to your content in your blog sidebar

Drop your links in Facebook groups

Get other bloggers to share your guides, and do the same for them

How do I earn income from my gift guides?

Well, I’m glad you asked! There are various ways to strike up brand partnerships, but here are three tried and tested methods:

Method 1: Find brand partners using manual brand outreach

A rather l.a.b.o.r.i.o.u.s way to find brands to strike up gift guide agreements with is to search the internet for brands and retailers who match your ethos and contact them with your idea to collaborate. You’ll then spend time negotiating costs and terms, and agree on a mutually beneficial partnership. Be prepared to set aside several weeks for this process to run its course, and make sure you have the time to execute the strategy to its fullest so that you can reward your hard work with increased income and partnerships.

Method 2: Find brand partners – WITHOUT the outreach

Did you read method 1 and then cry, “There must be an easier way to find brands to feature in my gift guides?” Use Get Blogged to save time on method one and enjoy a pumpkin-spiced latte by the fire, toasting your elevated holiday income quicker than you can mutter ho ho ho.

On Get Blogged, we now feature brand gift guide campaigns where bloggers can pitch for fantastic opportunities to monetise their gift guides. We bring the opportunities to you so you don’t have to find them!

Earn more income from your gift guides now.

Method 3: Become an affiliate

If it’s instant cash you want, affiliate partnerships are probably not going to be your bag. But picture this; what if you could earn passive income year after year without having to do a lot? Sounds interesting, right?

To earn income from your content throughout the year, being an affiliate is a great strategy. Strike up affiliate partnerships with brands like Etsy, Not On The High Street, and loads of others, and promote their products in your gift guides to earn you a commission.

Where to Find Affiliate Partnerships

To get started, you need to join an affiliate network. These platforms act as the middleman between you (the publisher) and brands (the merchants), making it easy to find partners, generate unique tracking links, and manage your earnings.

Here’s a breakdown of the top platforms and networks where you can find brilliant brand collaborations.

Platform/Network Name

Key Features

Types of Brands Available

Amazon Associates

The world’s largest affiliate programme. Easy to join, huge product selection, and trusted by consumers. Commission rates vary by category.

Almost everything imaginable, from books and electronics to fashion and home goods. Ideal for beginners and niche bloggers.

Awin (formerly Affiliate Window)

A massive global network with over 25,000 brands. Features an intuitive dashboard, reliable tracking, and a handy publisher directory.

A huge mix of major high street retailers and online brands. Known for its user-friendly interface, deep linking capabilities, and real-time reporting.

Strong focus on small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and exclusive merchants, particularly in fashion, home and garden, and business tools.

CJ Affiliate (formerly Commission Junction)

One of the oldest and most established networks. Offers advanced tools, robust reporting, and access to many of the world’s biggest brands.

A powerhouse for major global brands and household names. You’ll find companies like GoDaddy, Zappos, and Barnes & Noble here.

Rakuten Advertising

A premium network known for partnering with high-end, established brands. Offers rotating ad banners and detailed performance insights.

Primarily large, well-known retailers in fashion, luxury goods, and travel. Think brands like Net-a-Porter, Selfridges, and Ted Baker.

Skimlinks

Automates affiliate marketing by turning existing product links in your content into affiliate links. Super simple to install and manage.

Works with over 60,000 merchants across all major networks. Perfect for publishers who don’t want to manage individual programme applications.

ClickBank

Specialises in digital products like e-books, online courses, and software. Often offers high commission rates per sale.

Thousands of digital product creators and software companies. A great fit for bloggers in the business, marketing, health, and self-improvement niches.

Partnerize

A robust platform focusing on creating direct brand partnerships. Known for its powerful analytics and flexible commissioning tools.

Caters to major enterprise-level brands, especially in travel, retail, and finance. Think British Airways, Expedia, and major fashion houses.

Impact.com

A modern and fast-growing platform for managing partnerships of all kinds, not just affiliates. Clean interface and great for direct collaborations.

A diverse range of brands, from innovative tech start-ups and SaaS companies (like Canva) to fashion and lifestyle retailers.

When to Get Your Gift Guides Ready

Brands set their promotional wheels in motion months ahead of key shopping dates, often locking in marketing partners and budgets long before December. To ensure your blog is front and centre on their radar, your festive content needs to be live as soon as brands start searching for collaborators. If you move too late, you risk being the last mince pie at the buffet – present, but overlooked.

Timing is your not-so-secret weapon. If your “Christmas Gift Guide” lands in December, you’ve already missed the sleigh: brands have allocated their placements, and your guide has missed the SEO window and key shopping traffic from Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

To help you perfect your schedule and maximise every opportunity, here’s a table with suggested dates for a full suite of seasonal gift guides and campaigns:

Gift Guide/Event

Ideal Publication Date

Commentary & Audience

Back to School

Early August

Parents, students, education suppliers

Halloween

Late August

Early-bird shoppers, costume & décor inspiration

Diwali

Late September

Gifts, décor, Indian diaspora, cultural content

Thanksgiving (US & UK)

Mid-September

Foodies, homewares, autumn gatherings

Black Friday

Early October

Tech, gadgets, fashion, savvy deal-seekers

Advent Calendars

End of September

Beauty, food & drink, parents, planners

Hanukkah

End of September

Family, tradition, gifting, Jewish communities

Small Business Saturday (UK/US)

Mid-October

Independent brands, ethical shoppers, local support

Cyber Monday

Mid-October

Online exclusives, flash deals

General Christmas Gift Guides

Early October

All audiences – your core, high-traffic offering

Secret Santa/Stocking Fillers

Early October

Budget-friendly, workplace, students

Luxury Gift Guides

Early October

High-end shoppers, experience-focused gifts

Personalised Gifts

Early October

Families, couples, creative gifting

Sustainable/Eco Gifts

Early October

Green shoppers, ethical consumers

Last-Minute Gift Guides

Early December

Procrastinators, digital gifts, e-vouchers

Boxing Day & New Year

Mid-December

Deals, wellness, organising, “New Year, New Me”

Publishing your guides this early offers multiple advantages: you’re visible just as brands are mapping out their influencer activity, your content has a better chance of ranking on Google before search volume peaks, and you cater to the full spectrum of shoppers. From the hyper-organised to the last-minute dashers.

Top Tip: Add a dedicated “Gift Guides” or “Festive” section in your navigation bar. This clearly signals your expertise to brands scouting for placements and helps readers find your best seasonal content fast.

How to Create Irresistible Gift Guides Brands Adore

Forget generic lists packed with random products. The most powerful and profitable gift guides are curated with care, a clear audience in mind, and a distinct sense of style. Brands want to know you understand their ideal customer, and that your readers are the perfect fit.

How to Stand Out:

Niche Down for Relevance:
Break your gift guides into tight niches. By recipient, interest, budget, or even aesthetic. Instead of a sprawling “Christmas Gift Guide”, try “For Dads Who Love Adventure”, “Stocking Fillers Under £20”, “Eco-Friendly Presents for Teachers”, or “Self-Care Gifts for Stressed-Out Mums”.

Add Real Stories and Personality:
Include why you picked each item, your honest take, and show off how products look or work with original photographs or short videos. Use storytelling. Has this gift solved a problem for you? Does it have a fun backstory? This authenticity goes a long way.

Include Different Price Points:
Brands want spots in gift guides that cover both luxury and affordable ranges, so offer variety. Include high-value pieces, bestsellers, unique handmade treats, and bargain finds.

Make It Easy for Brands:
List what kinds of products you’re featuring each season on your “Work With Me” page or in a pinned social post. Keep partnership details visible and respond quickly to outreach.

Don’t Forget Maintenance!
Go through your old gift guides every year. Update broken links, replace discontinued products, and refresh with trending must-haves. Adjust the year in your post titles and on-page copy for relevance (e.g. “Best Beauty Gifts for 2025”).

How to Master SEO to Get Your Guides Seen

No matter how brilliant your gift guide is, if it isn’t discoverable on search engines, you’re leaving money and exposure on the table. Think of SEO as the map directing shoppers (and, yes, brands scouting you) straight to your blog.

Actionable SEO Tips:

Keyword Research: Begin with tools like Google Keyword Planner, Moz, or Ubersuggest. Search for popular and niche phrases such as “best stocking fillers for 12-year-olds UK”, “eco-friendly beauty gifts 2025”, or “unique Secret Santa ideas”.

Optimise Titles and URLs: Your primary keyword should be in your headline, the URL, meta descriptions, and at least one subtitle. For instance, “Top Gifts for Vegan Foodies 2025 | Gift Guide” uses strong, specific keywords.

Use Alt Text and Structured Data: All your images should have descriptive, keyword-optimised alt text to improve searchability and accessibility. Use product schema markup if possible, so your guides stand out in search results.

Internal Linking: Link from your new gift guide to related posts (like last year’s or other relevant lists), and update older posts to link to your fresh guide.

Continual Refreshing: Instead of creating new pages each year, update your strongest existing gift guides with current products and trends. This keeps your “SEO juice” active and growing.

Promote Your Guides Like a Pro on Social Media

A successful guide is only half about the blog post and half about how you amplify it. Creators who master social sharing get more eyes (and brands) on their work, faster.

Winning Strategies:

Instagram and TikTok: Use teaser Stories, countdowns, and Reels to show sneak peeks. Highlight individual products in short videos, adding “link in bio” or swipe-up calls to action.

Pinterest: Create a series of eye-catching, on-brand pins for each gift guide and add keyword-friendly descriptions. Seasonal buyers often search here first.

Hashtags and Tagging: Join gift guide-related hashtags such as #GiftGuideUK, #ChristmasGiftIdeas, and #BlackFridayFinds. Always tag featured brands. They may repost, earning you exposure and demonstrating your value.

Cross-Platform Coordination: Stagger your posts across different platforms for sustained traffic. Schedule posts and pins for optimal times, using analytics to tweak your timing.

How to Diversify Your Income Streams

One of the biggest mistakes creators make is relying solely on sponsored placements for festive income. By mixing in different revenue streams, you can multiply your earnings and create long-term financial stability.

How to Do It:

Affiliate Links: Sign up for networks like Amazon Associates, Awin, ShareASale, or LTK. Add affiliate links to every relevant product in your guides. Use trackable URLs to see what’s converting.

Sponsored Packages: Offer more than a blog post–suggest campaign bundles that include social media mentions, email newsletter spots, or short-form video content. Brands love a comprehensive approach.

Digital Products: Think beyond blog posts. Design printable planners, checklists, or digital tags themed around the holidays. Offer exclusive downloads as content upgrades to build your mailing list and provide value.

Gifted Product Reviews: If a brand doesn’t have a budget for a full campaign, consider gifted product reviews that also include affiliate links.

How to Build Relationships and Impress Brands

A single festive partnership can be the start of a fruitful, ongoing relationship if you play your cards right.

Steps to Impress Brands:

Go the Extra Mile: Deliver what you promise – on time and to brief. But always add something extra. This could be an extra Instagram Story, a surprise unboxing, or a behind-the-scenes Reel showing how you used their product.

Share Results: Send concise post-campaign recaps. Include pageview stats, affiliate clicks, screenshots of glowing comments, and a summary of social reach.

Stay Connected: Drop brands a thank-you note and let them know about upcoming guides or campaigns. Build a compendium of PR contacts and send short check-ins (such as sharing new opportunities or relevant updates) a few times a year.

Manage Your Time and Avoid Blogger Burnout

Juggling multiple deadlines, gifted product arrivals, and endless emails can overwhelm even experienced bloggers. Your success hinges on keeping your energy and creativity high.

Tried-and-Tested Methods:

Content Calendar: Map out key seasonal events, brand deadlines, and your campaign schedule. Tools like Trello or Google Calendar work well for tracking drafts, photo shoots, and publications.

Prioritise Fit Over Volume: Don’t accept every campaign that crosses your inbox. Only work with brands and products you genuinely love and that fit your audience; this keeps your content authentic and engaging.

Batch Your Work: Schedule shoot days, writing blocks, and editing sessions. Tackling similar tasks together limits switching costs and keeps you in the creative flow.

Boundaries: Set firm cut-off times for work (especially during school holidays or family events). Say no without guilt when a project doesn’t serve you or your blog’s mission.

Data is your blog’s crystal ball. Analysing your festive performance ensures you’re always levelling up.

Practical Analytics Tips:

Google Analytics: Dive into your holiday traffic to see what gift guides resonated, what posts drove the most affiliate sales, and which sources (search, social, direct) brought in readers.

Affiliate Dashboards: Regularly check which products and retailers convert best with your audience so you can fine-tune future recommendations.

Surveys and Polls: Ask your email subscribers or social media followers for feedback. Find out which guides they loved most and what they’d like to see next year.

Where to Find and Pitch Your Dream Collaborations

Proactive outreach is your secret weapon. Brands can’t choose you if they don’t know you’re out there. But don’t just wait for emails to land in your inbox. Go out and find those golden opportunities.

Where to Find Campaigns:

Get Blogged: Check the Get Blogged Marketplace regularly for fresh festive campaigns. Keep your profile up-to-date so you’re ready when brands are searching for new creators to collaborate with.

Influencer Platforms: Sign up and monitor platforms like TRIBE, Influencer, ZINE, and Brandbassador for regular briefs from brands seeking bloggers and content creators.

PR Agencies: Build relationships with PR agencies that represent brands in your niche. Sign up for their mailing lists and keep an eye out for calls for collaborators.

Social Media Hashtags: Scan Twitter/X and Instagram for hashtags such as #BloggerRequest, #PRRequest, #GiftGuideRequest, and #CollabWithMe to uncover campaign invites direct from brands and PRs.

Facebook Groups and Forums: Join blogger communities and brand partnership groups where opportunities are often shared in real-time.

How to Get Noticed:

Media Kit Mastery: Create a visually striking, up-to-date media kit. Include professional imagery, blog and social stats, clear audience demographics (age, location, interests), and a menu of services (sponsored posts, reels, newsletters, etc.).

Research the Right Contact: Use LinkedIn and companies’ PR pages to find marketing or influencer managers, rather than general addresses. Personalise each pitch with their name and a reference to recent brand activity or campaigns.

Craft Persuasive Pitches: Keep emails brief but compelling. State why you love the brand and how your audience matches theirs. Suggest a clear campaign idea (for example, “I’m compiling my annual ‘Best Stocking Fillers for New Mums’ and would love to include your organic bath oils”) and invite a conversation. Attach your media kit and link to relevant past campaign success stories.

Don’t Forget Legal & Disclosure Guidelines

Add a disclosure policy page to your blog and FAQs page so everyone knows how you work with brands.

Festive potential doesn’t dry up with the last slice of Christmas cake. In fact, Boxing Day and the New Year are bursting with opportunities for fresh campaigns and continued earnings.

Here’s How:

Boxing Day / January Sales: Create updated shopping guides or “Best Post-Holiday Bargains” features. Brands with excess stock are keen to shift inventory and often seek blogger partners at the last minute.

New Year’s Resolutions: Pitch content focusing on wellness, organisation, self-improvement, or “fresh start” themes. Brands in fitness, tech, stationery, and food especially value this window.

Follow-Up with Brands: After a successful campaign, suggest carrying the partnership into the new year. These ongoing collaborations can grow into exclusive, repeat business.

One of Get Blogged’s missions is to provide initiatives for the blogging community to earn an income doing what they love. So our own affiliate scheme is just one of the ways bloggers can monetise their audience. In this case study we show you how one blogger has earned over £1200 from one brand referral – and how you can too!

Table of Contents

Turning blogging connections into a passive income stream with Get Blogged’s affiliate programme

Get Blogged is a marketplace platform where brands come to find bloggers and influencers to help promote their products and services. Whilst Get Blogged already has a steady stream of brands and campaigns, we operate an affiliate programme to help grow the number of brands and opportunities on our marketplace.

So, with that said, every blogger who joins Get Blogged is issued with a referral link and the opportunity to get paid commission whilst helping us grow our brand community.

Forget those affiliate schemes that only pay out once, or where the commission rate drops after the first sale. The Get Blogged scheme aims to provide affiliates with an income for the life of the brand.

So, in practical terms that means that there are various commission triggers over the brand lifecycle explained below:

Get Blogged Affiliate Plans

Commission trigger

Plan 5

Plan 10

Plan 15

Super

Verified brand signup

£5.00

£2.50

–

Application only

Approved blogging campaign

£5.00

£5.00

–

Application only

Approved collaboration

5%

10%

15%

Application only

How does the Get Blogged affiliate scheme work?

Everyone starts on Plan 5, which would work as follows:

You refer a brand that signs up to Get Blogged for free and then verifies their email address (that’s your first £5 earned.)

The referred brand creates a campaign for free, then Get Blogged approves it and it gets advertised in the Get Blogged Marketplace (that’s another £5 earned.)

The referred brand hires a blogger and you earn 5% of the amount the brand paid the blogger. (For example, if the brand paid the blogger £100, you earn £5.)

But the opportunity to earn doesn’t end there. Brands hire an average of 2 bloggers per campaign, so in the example above, you would have earned £20 from that one brand referral.

The real magic happens when the brand comes back to run more campaigns and collaborate with more bloggers over a longer period of time.

We have an incredible retention rate for brands; they use Get Blogged for an average of 6 – 9 months of the first year they sign up. Also, brands typically increase their budgets month after month once they realise how incredible blogger marketing is.

How this blogger earned over £1.2k from one brand referral

In September 2021, our savvy affiliate decided to leverage their existing brand partnerships and referred a brand to Get Blogged. This simple action led to a fantastic outcome that keeps giving – £1270 in commissions and counting!

But let’s break down exactly how this happened.

As you’ve discovered above, Get Blogged operates an outstandingly generous commission plan. The moment the affiliate’s referred brand created an account, they started earning money. But the earning potential didn’t stop there. Each time the brand launched a campaign or collaborated with bloggers, our affiliate continued to earn a commission.

This brand was no one-hit-wonder. So far they have run an impressive 43 campaigns on Get Blogged, collaborating with 138 bloggers. This ongoing activity set up a continuous flow of commissions to our affiliate’s pocket month after month.

The key takeaway here is that with Get Blogged’s affiliate programme, you’re not just making a quick buck. You’re building a long-term income stream. It’s like planting a seed and watching it grow into a money tree!

Here’s a breakdown of how the affiliate commission was earnt during 2022 and 2023:

Because I love a table, this is a breakdown of how the commission events contributed to the overall earnings for this one affiliate who is on Plan 5:

Commission events

Commission per event (Plan 5)

Earnings

Brands

1

£5

£5

Campaigns

43

£5

£215

Collaborations

138

5%

£980

Total

182

–

£1200

Build a passive income stream with the Get Blogged affiliate programme

Already have a relationship with brands? Perfect! Using the referral code in your Get Blogged dashboard, point them to Get Blogged where they can find more talented bloggers like you. It’s a win-win situation – the brand finds quality content creators, and you get rewarded each time they collaborate.

This case study is a shining example of the passive income opportunities available as a Get Blogged affiliate. It’s straightforward, jargon-free, and accessible to any blogger with a desire to make their hard work pay off in more ways than one.

So, why not give it a shot? You might just end up being our next success story! If you’re inspired to get involved, either sign up below or sign in as a blogger, and visit the affiliate area to get started.

What is a digital media kit?

A digital media kit for creators is an online portfolio that showcases a content creator’s work, achievements, audience demographics, and collaboration opportunities. It serves as a powerful marketing tool for influencers, bloggers, and creators to present their unique value proposition to potential brand partners and sponsors.

By having a well-organised and visually appealing digital media kit, creators can effectively demonstrate their skills, reach, and impact, making it easier to secure partnerships and monetise their online presence.

What’s the difference between a static media kit and a digital one?

A static media kit is a fixed, non-interactive document, usually in PDF format. It contains essential information about a content creator, such as their work samples, audience demographics, and collaboration opportunities. It is often attached to emails or downloaded from a website and requires manual updates whenever there are changes in the creator’s projects, brand partners or statistics.

On the other hand, a digital media kit is an online, interactive portfolio that can be easily updated and shared. It’s more dynamic, as it allows for real-time updates of the creator’s latest work, achievements, and audience metrics.

Digital media kits can include multimedia content, like videos and images. They can also provide a more engaging experience for potential brand partners and sponsors. Additionally, digital media kits offer easier sharing through a unique link. This makes them more accessible and user-friendly compared to static media kits.

The benefits of using a digital media kit for content creators

Versatile and interactive

Digital media kits are incredibly versatile and allow for interactive features that static media kits cannot offer. You can include animations, videos, and clickable links to your website, social media handles, and portfolio examples.

This interactive quality makes your media kit stand out and brings your brand to life in front of potential sponsors.

Instantly updatable

Digital media kits are easily updatable, allowing you to make changes and updates quickly whenever necessary. You can add new accomplishments, collaborations, and other relevant and time-sensitive pieces of information to your digital media kit immediately, without having to redesign the entire layout.

This flexibility allows your media kit to stay current, relevant, and up-to-date, which can increase your chances of securing sponsorships.

Saves time and effort

Digital media kits are a great way to save time and effort. Which we know as a content creator is important. You won’t have to worry about designing a new media kit, or linking new versions on your site and socials. Instead, you can send the link to your digital media kit and simplify the process. This makes it a whole heap easier for you and the potential sponsor.

Cost-effective

Digital media kits offer a cost-effective solution tailored for content creators. By eliminating the expenses associated with redesigning (or even printing) and linking your static media kit, you can focus on maximising your digital presence and attracting more sponsorship opportunities.

Embracing a digital media kit is not only a smart and practical choice but also an essential step in staying ahead in the ever-evolving world of content creation. Don’t miss out on the benefits of this efficient and budget-friendly tool designed to elevate your online influence and boost brand collaborations.

Win more work

A digital media kit can help content creators win more work. How? By showcasing a creator’s work and skillset in a more professional and interactive way. Here are some specific ways a digital media kit can help content creators secure more work:

Provides a professional image

A digital media kit provides a professional image of a content creator and the work they have produced. Demonstrating that the creator’s taken the time and effort to create a comprehensive page highlighting their creative abilities and professionalism.

Highlight expertise and niche

A digital media kit can be customised to highlight the specific expertise, niche and creative style of the content creator. This allows potential clients to easily understand what the creator has to offer, and how their unique skills would fit with their brand.

Showcases previous work

A digital media kit can include previous campaigns, collaborations, and partnerships. This allows brands to get a feel for the content creator’s experience and the quality of work.

Demonstrate a strong online presence

With links to social media profiles and blogs, potential clients can explore and learn more about a creator’s online presence. This can create a sense of trust which any successful parftnership is built upon.

Where can a digital media kit be shared?

A digital media kit can be shared in various ways to maximise visibility and reach potential brand partners and sponsors. Some effective places to share your digital media kit include:

Email Signature: Add a link to your digital media kit in your email signature, making it easily accessible to anyone you communicate with via email.

If you’re a blogger, chances are you’ve been approached by a brand at some point to promote their product or service – that’s exciting! If you’re on Get Blogged as a blogger you may recently have been hired by a brand to promote their products or services – brilliant! And if you’re thinking about becoming a professional blogger, working with brands is likely something you’ll want to do more of – heck yeah. But how do you give a great service to brands to keep them coming back for more collaborations? Below are six important tips to remember:

1. Do your research to enable you to create useful content

The first step to giving a great service to brands is doing your research. You need to make sure that the brand is a good fit for your blog and that its values align with your own. You also need to research the specific product or service they want you to promote. What are its features? How does it benefit your readers? Answering these questions will help you create content that is both informative and persuasive.

2. This is a working relationship, so be professional

When working with brands, it’s important to always be professional. This means meeting deadlines, being responsive to their requests, and upholding the terms of your agreement. Remember, the brands you work with are entrusting you with their reputation – so don’t take that responsibility lightly.

Why being responsive is important

Collaborating with brands can be a great way to get your name out there and earn some extra income. However, it’s important to remember that, as a blogger, you are representing the brand you’re working with. This means that it’s important to be responsive to any requests or questions they may have.

Being responsive shows that you’re reliable and that you take your work seriously. It also demonstrates that you’re willing to go the extra mile to make sure the collaboration is a success. In today’s competitive blogging landscape, it’s important to set yourself apart from the rest. Being responsive is one way to do that.

Of course, being responsive doesn’t mean being available 24/7. You should still have boundaries and make sure you’re not getting taken advantage of. But if a brand asks for a quick turnaround on a blog post or social media campaign, being able to deliver shows that you’re professional and capable.

3. Meet a brand’s deadline

Being a professional blogger requires more than just writing great content. It also requires meeting deadlines, being organised, and maintaining good communication with the brands you work with. Brands rely on bloggers to create content that will help them promote their products or services. When a blogger misses a deadline, it can reflect poorly on the brand and cause them to lose trust in the blogger.

3 reasons why deadlines matter to brands

Deadlines matter for a few reasons. First, when a blogger misses a deadline, it can leave the brand in a difficult position. They may have planned their marketing campaign around the blog post and needed it to go live by a certain date. If the blog post isn’t ready on time, it can throw off their whole campaign.

Second, deadlines help to keep bloggers organised and on track. A missed deadline can set off a domino effect, causing other deadlines to be missed as well.

Finally, missing deadlines reflects poorly on the blogger and can damage their reputation. Brands need to be able to trust that bloggers will meet their deadlines in order to continue working together. When a blogger consistently misses deadlines, it will eventually catch up to them and they may find themselves without any brands to work with.

4. Create high-quality content

Of course, one of the most important things you can do when working with brands is to create high-quality content. This means writing well, using strong visuals, and including accurate information. If you’re not confident in your ability to produce quality content, it’s best to pass on the opportunity or find someone who can help you meet the brand’s expectations.

5. Promote your content effectively

Once you’ve created great content, it’s time to promote it effectively. This means sharing it on your social media channels, email list, and other places where your target audience hangs out online. You should also make sure to tag the brand in any posts or articles so they can amplify your reach even further. This to brands is a value add and goes a long way to forging long-term working relationships.

How to give a great service to brands

Working with brands can be a great way to monetise your blog and build your audience at the same time – but only if you do it right. By following the tips above, you can give brands the quality service they expect and deserve – while also growing your blog in the process. So what are you waiting for? Start reaching out to brands today!
